Madonna in Athens review and pictures by Myrto
“Hello guys from beautiful Athens as The Queen herself said!
I was one of the fortunate to go to the concert last night and believe me when I tell you that is will be a moment to cherish.
There is no point in me saying that Madonna is a true goddess of pop. We all know that for many years. But I have to say that she is one hell of a trooper. Last night was the most amazing show I’ve ever been to. I’ve been waiting for this for so many years and finally my dream came true.
The show started 10 minutes earlier, it was supposed to begin 21:30 but she went on stage on 21:20. The minute we saw her we went wild!! We could not believe our eyes. She immediately started dancing, singing, doing her thing…..it was amazing. During the minutes that she was on the white car, her black vest (I think it was a vest) could not be unbuttoned easily and she was struggling with it but the flashed smiles to the audience.
When she hit the oldies, Human Nature and especially Vogue we lost it! I was flying on my seat, the crowd was nuts, I can’t even describe it. We sang all of her songs so loud we all have sore throats today I’m sure.
The most amazing part of the show in my opinion was Devil Wouldnt Recognise You. I was completely amazed by the production, the effects, the visuals, the set up of the whole thing….
When La Isla Bonita came on we jumped up and down again. Since she did this song with the Romanian group she had with (the style of the music sounds similar like our Greek songs) everyone was dancing.
On the last 5 songs of the show, the stadium went “up in flames”. 4 Minutes? We tore uo the place. The Like A Prayer techno version? An instant favourite and an amazing version that totally rocked!! At the end of the show in Give It To Me she talked to the crowd, played with us and laughed.
I cannot even begin to thank her for deciding to come to Athens. We have all been waiting for this for so long and it finally happened. Even today, I cannot believe it that I was there yesterday. She is such an amazing performer, a brilliant business woman, a captivating entrepreneur, a hard working lady who loves what she does and wants to share it with the world.
Just a simple thank you will never be enough.
Here are some pictures I took with my camera, they’re not perfect but I think they’re OK.
Thank you for your time”
