Madonna in East Rutherford images and report by Luis
M-Tribe reader Luis dropped us a line to share his experience and his images of the first Madonna show in New Jersey.
“First of all, let me say, I was no expecting this show to go down as well as it did. I love love love love love the Confessions Tour, but this new tour is amazing.
I personally thought she could not top the Confessions Tour, but Madonna has proven herself yet again, and re-invented this show.
First of all, being from New York City, I took the train to Jersey and then a shuttle bus to the stadium, so much fun, and the fans went wild once we got to the stadium.
Once inside everyone was going crazy buying merchandise, program books, tees, mugs, shot glasses, you name it.
Everyone was already in seats, as a lot of people thought the show would start on time. WRONG! The show started an hour late, about 9:15pm or so I believe.
I was so lucky that night. I had purchased a ticket on the side of the stage, had a decent view, so so excited. Little did I know, I got relocated and the new seat was awesome.
I had a complete view of the stage, I was basically given a first row ticket.
Most people are wondering what the stage setup is. The stage is the same, it has the same runway, all the lights, the whole 9 yards. The 2 giants M’s have been replaced by projected M’s on the screens before the show begins.
Before the show started I got to see Madonna’s guitarist about to take the stage, he is so cute, we screamed at him and he waved at us.
Once the show started and the C-A-N-D-Y came on, the stadium went crazy. It was just amazing. She was on point, before I knew it, we were into the Beat goes on, and before I even noticed, the first section of the tour was complete. I must saw my favorites were: Like a prayer, Beat goes on, Vogue, and Give it 2 me. Give it 2 me is amazing, it is a little different than the album version, it has a little dance/techno beat in it. When like a prayer started, everyone went crazy, I am not kidding.
The requested song was Open your heart.
Before i knew it, the show was over. I had such an amazing time and I cant wait to see the show again.”
