More foreign editions on the way for Like An Icon
Last week MadonnaTribe reported that the book Like An Icon by Lucy O’Brien has been translated into 12 languages so far and that it is soon due out in Italy. We briefly spoke to our friend Lucy and asked her if she’s happy with her book’s results.
MadonnaTribe: Welcome back on Tribe Lucy. So are you happy with the reactions to your book?
Lucy O’Brien: Yes. There were one or two odd reviews in the UK press
by people who wanted it to be more tabloid and more
about her sex life (!!) But most people understood and
loved the fact that I was trying to do something
different – to seriously explore her life as a woman
and as an artist. I was flattered that US press and
radio, which is usually sceptical about a British
writer writing on ‘their own’, has been so
enthusiastic and supportive of the book.
MadonnaTribe: Well there’s no doubt you put efforts into trying to do something different from the usual tabloid style bio book. Last week we were mentioning the fact Like An Icon has been translated into 12 different language. Can our readers around the globe expect
more foreign editions on the way?
Lucy O’Brien: Yes… I’ll let you know as soon as more are finalised.
MadonnaTribe: Thanks Lucy
