o rain, no pain, and I won’t complain!
M-Tribe Community member Ragnarok just got back from the Morumbi Stadium.
“I only decided on seeing tonight’s show a few days ago, but I couldn’t be more glad that I went. Oh God, what an amazing night – and I was in the stands, miles from the stage!”
sound was incredible. Crystal clear, you could hear everything perfectly (and M’s voice was less than perfect in some parts, though it was fine for most of the show).”
“The Pimp act didn’t impress me as much as I thought it would – it was awesome, but I think the combination of having seen that one section of the show over and over again online and being too taken aback by the fact that I was in Madonna’s presence contributed to my not being absolutely blown away. I’m sure it’ll be much more exciting and powerful tomorrow night, when I see M up close and personal.”
“The Old School section was where the show really took off for me tonight. The DAD video was much more awesome than I could have imagined. And that remix, so good. Into the Groove was spectacular! The new version, the screens, the pole dancing, the rope jumping, it was all amazing. Heartbeat takes on a whole new level of awesome in a live show – those beats are amazing, and the routine is jaw-droppingly cool.”
“She’s Not Me was simply too amazing for words. It was during this song that my boyfriend turned to me with a huge smile on his face and said, “this woman is fucking incredible.” And of course I wholeheartedly agreed!”
“Music REALLY got the whole stadium going more than any other song up until that point. I loved the performance.”
“I actually really liked Here Comes the Rain Again, though I’d heard it wasn’t so great.
Devil was just BREATHTAKING. Those screens, her voice, that incredible piano solo… too amazing.”
“Spanish Lesson didn’t impress me much. The perfomance was all right and I loved the dancers’ outfits but I’m not a big fan of the song.
She dedicated Miles Away to everyone in Sao Paulo. The song is great, the performance was okay.”
“La Isla Bonita was amazing! I just love this version. Doli Doli was a surprisingly fun moment.
You Must Love Me was gorgeous – her voice was perfect. Everyone was screaming “I LOVE YOU!” and she said “Who?” and the entire stadium started chanting her name. She sighed and said “I could get used to this!” So cute. She also said Sao Paulo was the best crowd they had on the tour. Whether this is really true we’ll never know, but I’m taking her word for it!”
“Get Stupid was surprisingly awesome. Loved the video and the song. 4 Minutes was okay but I don’t like the song much so the performance didn’t really blow me away.”
“But “Like a Prayer“… oh God, the best part of the show! I don’t think I need to say anything, we all know how awesome everything about that part of the show is.”
“Ray of Light was great. After it, she asked us who kept predicting rain during the concerts, and said “Fuck the rain! No rain, no pain, and I won’t complain!” (All weather forecasts predicted rain, but all we got was a slight drizzle before the concert and not a single drop during it.) During the request section, she chose a guy called Ronaldo to pick the song and he chose Open Your Heart. She said, “Baby, you’re good looking, but you picked the wrong song!”
“She chose another guy and he picked Holiday. She said no again and the first guy asked for Express Yourself, which she sang. What a shocker… it was a good moment though – everyone did great at singing along.”
“Hung Up was a BIG surprise. I HATED that version when I saw the videos of the promo tour, but I loved it live! I even enjoyed that ridiculous grinding against the amps shit. Everyone was singing along.”
“And then Give It 2 Me. I didn’t think I’d like the remix but it worked great live, I loved it. Everyone sang along on this one as well. Sadly, no soccer shirt and no climbing down from the stage to be closer to the fans. I hope she does it tomorrow night – she has to, it’s the last show!”
“Seeing “GAME OVER” written on the screens was a sad moment. But there’s more tomorrow, and this time right in front of her, not from all the way across the stadium!”
