Swiss rush for Madonna tickets
Some 47,000 tickets were snapped up within three hours for Madonna’s first-ever concert in Switzerland, to be held on August 30 at a military base near Zurich, promoters said on Friday. By selling 40,000 tickets in the first 30 minutes, she also broke the Swiss record previously held by the U2 concert – for which fans bought 40,000 tickets in 40 minutes.
No more tickets are currently available – the AFP reports – but another 23,000 would be going on sale later, of which 10,000 will be reserved to people living near the venue at Duebendorf, Good News Productions said.
Tickets cost from 150 to 300 Swiss francs (90 to 185 euros, 140 to 285 dollars) – domestic rail travel included.
And here’s the first look at one of these much-saught after tickets, with special thanks to our Community member ImpressiveInstants.
