The make up behind the Vuitton new look
The guys at allure.com have interviewed hairstylist Garren and makeup artist Pat McGrath who were behind the great new photos of the Louis Vuitton campaign for 2009 starring the one and only Madonna.
But what did they exactly do to achieve this incredible look? Garren created finger waves and then brushed through them, but for amateurs, he kindly suggests an easier route:
“Blow-dry your hair with a diffuser to preserve any natural waves, mist your hair with Garren Designing Spray Tonic ($26), and spiral your hair around the double-barreled Nalu Waver ($179.99),” he says. Unlike a single-barrel iron, the peculiar-looking Nalu ensures that no two curls look alike. Brush through with a wide-tooth comb. Done.
After doing the foundation and powder thing to Madonna’s skin, McGrath applied Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream ($17) to her lashes, and used Prescriptives Softlining Pencil in Jet Black ($17.50) on the top lash line, smudging it with her finger.
She finished with Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper ($9.98), which is out next month, an amplifying mascara that Madonna liked so much, she threw it in her handbag. “Everyone is living for it,” says McGrath.
The insanely pigmented Max Factor Vivid Impact Lipcolor in Ms. Right ($7.98), also out next month, graced M’s lips.
