This fucking clock has been staring at me all night!
Here is the report from the Madonna concert at the BC Place in Vancouver – the Sticky & Sweet Tour third stop in Canada – by our Community member Dmitri-Zhelenkov.
Let me start by saying that Madonna’s concert in Vancouver was definitely one of the best nights in my entire life. Seriously. She’s amazing, talented, energetic, positive, and so inspirational!!!
Last night Vancouver was all into Madonna. Everywhere we went, all the shops played Madonna, outside of the BC Place Stadium there was this bar and they’ve put up a huge screen and played all Madonna videos and played songs all night. After the concert, there were tons of parties.
At 6 they’ve opened the doors and we entered the stadium. God! It was amazing there. Such a beautiful stadium, closed roof and 2 huge M letters on the sides of the stage. People were all “WOW” and “AWESOME” as they were entering. WE all knew it was going to be a magical night.
Soon the DJ started playing and everyone got excited. It took some time for the entire 50- thousand people crowd to get to their seats. People were cheering, screaming and dancing. There were a lot of Virgins, Material Girls, Blonde Ambition style girls and boys…
When we got to our seats (through like 10 securities) – we were MORE than HAPPY! We were ecstatic! We were so close, just 1 meter away from the catwalk (were were in the middle of it, but it was quite short and the circular end was very close to us)!
We waited, waited….and at 9:30 the lights went off. JESUS! It was such an amazing feeling that the words can’t possibly describe. 50 thousand of people were screaming and cheering. Everyone was just ready for one of the best nights of their lives.
The pinball candy video interlude was amazing and people were cheering. And then… Madonna was there! God, people went nuts! It was so cool to see her that close! One lady actually cried when she realized that she was that close!
I won’t go into describing every song but I will write about some.
Candy Shop and Beat Goes On – were just perfect for the start. They were AMAZING!
Special moments were Devil (with such a beautiful performance), You must Love me – amazing voice, very sentimental video and very very deep meaning. Some people cried. I was about to. She was just glowing. She was smiling all the time. People showed their love to Madonna last night. She was having fun and we were having fun too. IT was just perfect.
Songs like 4 Minutes, Like a Prayer, Give it 2 Me were very well received and people very excited. But really all the songs were just amazing. People loved the show. Madonna was beautiful, she kept smiling all the time.
I think at point she had a little injury or something. I think her leg was red and then she got it covered for the next song ( I personally didn’t see it but others told me).
Stupid articles (some of them) that came out were just ridiculous. I’ve never heard any person there complain about the show. Another fact is that her new songs we very well received. And there WERE many young people, unlike one of the article states. It just shows that media is a lie, and reality is that 50 thousand of people were ALL happy and excited.
One funny moment was when Madonna mentioned the clock that was right in front of her on the top of the BC stadium. Everyone could see it and so she saw it too. She said “This fucking clock has been staring at me all night!“. We all laughed.
Another funny moment was when one girl screamed Like a Virgin during the request section. Madonna was like “I am going to sing Like A Virgin because this virgin wants me to“. It was so funny!
People were amazed with the fact that she 50, but she looks like 20, dances her ass off, so energetic, so interactive, and just GLOWING!
Her concert was like a separate world that we entered. A magical world, beautiful place. The show was so beautiful, so positive and so amazing! Songs were beautiful, ballads were wonderful, other songs were just perfect, everyone was dancing all night.
It was the first time for Vancouver, and it was definitely one of the best moments of the year for Vancouver. Madonna gave it 2 Vancouver.
They were selling the lithographs just like for Toronto. They made 400 copies only. I bought the last one (lucky)! Also they had a new magnet (blue color), and a lot of other merchandise that wasn’t , for example, available in Toronto.
Both shows (I saw in Toronto too) were just amazing. Atmosphere in the stadium was of course different and magical. In Toronto, it was perfect too
I saw her for the first time in Moscow during CT! It will always be special. But this tour is really her best one, because it’s all about celebrating life, it’s all about fun, dancing and having a good time. And of course it also has slow ballad moments which are STUNNING!
I am admiring this woman more and more. The fact that she is able to turn 50 thousand faces towards here and get their full undivided attention is just unbelievable. She is a powerful, inspiring person. She is just a legend. It will very sad when’s gone.
We never know what can happen, so if you have a chance, go to see this tour and enjoy it, it will be one of the best moments of your life. Her concerts are a piece of art shows; they are little 2 hours spectacles that change your life forever. She is just beautiful. Not only physically, but inside too. She is just a beautiful person (in every meaning of the word).
I also thought this particular show (The Sticky & Sweet Tour), especially in Vancouver, it showed her real personality. It showed a real Madonna inside a person that we see on TV! She was very relaxed and she was having fun. She was enjoying herself. She was so beautiful during Devil and You Must Love Me, we felt her. I felt her. I felt what she felt. We were all connected with Madonna. She made a connection. She is just a pure inspiration. People from 8 to 80 were there and what I saw was smiles. I saw thousands of smiles, thousands of happy people that were just amazed by a woman, and inspired by her in so many ways. Madonna is a legend. Madonna is the best artist in the world. And at the end of the day, she is just a very good person . And that’s what makes her different.
I bought a new digital camera, and the videos and photos are just brilliant, and look professional. I’ve never seen any similar on YouTube! I will post them soon! And the pictures too!
Thanks for reading! Any questions? I will be more than happy to answer!”
