Unhappy Madonna Fans
The “surprise cancellation” of the second Manchester date and the Hamburg stop from the itinerary of the Sticky and Sweet Tour 2009 left quite a lot of Madonna fans unhappy.
The adding of a Paris Bercy show to the schedule the night after the second Manchester show and the second date in Oslo should have really been clue of future cancellation as Madonna hasn’t performed three nights in a row since ages.
But nothing was announced at the time, while today we learn from the tour’s promoter that due to unprecedented demand by fans and some logistical scheduling issues, a few changes have been made.
In the same press release there is no mention of these show being cancelled – they are simply gone. You may need to know what the previous schedule was (or unfortunately, have tickets booked for one of these dates) to notice the difference in the yet another self celebrating “Madonna’s ‘Sticky & Sweet’ Summer Tour Reigns Supreme” press release.
Customers have not even being informed about any alteration of the schedule, while if you ring Ticketmaster they will confirm the second MEN Arena concert has been cancelled. Much respect shown to those who are booking planes and hotels to travel around, since the Oslo and Paris dates have been announced since weeks.
What now fans are asking is if at least all the pre-sale fees and the postage fees already paid for the now useless, cancelled tickets are going to be reinboursed as they should be.
