Fan’s favourite memorabilia – Part Five
MadonnaTribers have started to send in photos and stories about their most favourite Madonna memorabilia in their collections. Here are 3 more stories.
• After seeing everyone’s favourite items on the site, I thought I woul share 2 of mine.
The first of mine is the extremely rare Levi’s jacket promoting the ‘Music’ album. My ex girlfriend worked in the record industry in London and was friends with a guy from Warner Music UK. A lot of promo records etc came our way but this jacket was by far the best. I dont know how many were made but from what I hear it is extremely rare. The logo itself isn’t just a sewn own patch – it is actually embroidered into the jacket itself. The only issue I have with it is that its a size small and dosen’t fit.!!!!

• When I saw this magazine in a Soho shop in London last march I couldn’t believe it. I was speechlessa nd bought it right away. I don’t know how this classic Playboy magazine is really worth. I’ve always seen it reproduced in unauthorized biographies.
I’ve put it in a frame and now is happily hanging on a wall in my room.

• I may have collected some of the rarest Madonna memorabilia around, such as the original withdrawn 12″ picture disc of Erotica, the lifesize display of Desperately Seeking Susan, Spanish Ardiendo 12″ and the withdrawn 12″ ers + 2 cassette from Japan. But none of it compares to the more personal items that I have in my collection.
My favourite item is my signed Madonna picture that was sent to me. My best friend suffered a heart attack in 2009, to try and cheer him up I tried to arrange a signed picture by Madonna for him. After many e-mails and a lot of hours I received a message that a signed pic was on it’s way. I still remember seeing his face when he opened up his present, total disbelief and totally shocked. Something that he had wanted since 1985 was finally here in his hands, his best birthday present ever.
However you could’ve imagined my shock when a few months later my best friend took me by surprise by saying that he had received a signed picture for me! It was meant to be a surprise, but I received an email by Madonna’s management stating that because I had never asked for an autograph for myself and was only thinking of my best friend, they wanted to send me something as well as a thank you. I was in shock, this was something I never thought I would own and now here was a picture signed by Madonna to me! Good things come to those who wait, I guess ;o)
