Fan’s favourite memorabilia – Part One
MadonnaTribers have started to send in photos and stories about their most favourite Madonna memorabilia in their collections. Let’s start today with the first three stories.
• Here’s the piece that I would save in case of fire. It was 1987 and I was 10 years old. Madonna came to Turin to do her first concert in Italy and I begged my father to take me to the show.
The answer was NO, for a series of reasons and most of all because of my very young age. But at least he brought me outside the stadium to hear her sing. It was such an incredible emotion, even if I couldn’t see her I was so happy to hear her and know she was there. As a consolation, that night my mother bought me this cushion. I used to keep it on my bed and hug it like if it were a plush doll and I used to fall to sleep with my IDOL!

• Well, here is the ONE and ONLY item that I would take in case of fire. The story behind this is a little more than just a story, it’s amazing. The autograph was given to me when I turned 17…in 1997. My father had been working with the Warner chappell division of Warner Bros. Records and had collabrated with a co-worker to have this item signed. He said that a very long letter was written to Madonna and had mentioned that I was a Madonna fan. In doing so, she had kindly signed this picture…for me. I got it on my birthday in April and let me tell you I had been shocked…and AMAZED.
Thank you to the one and only Madonna.
And thank you Madonnatribe…
