Madonna in The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women
Forbes.com compiled their list of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women comprising heads of state and first ladies, bankers and cultural icons, CEOs and entrepreneurial athletes in a fresh look at power and creative influence.
Madonna ranked at #29 in the list, topped by First Lady Michelle Obama, and this is what Forbes have to say about her:
The Material Girl may be the original pop sensation, credited with influencing female musicians from Britney Spears to Shakira, but with Lady Gaga hot on her heels, Madge is stepping up her game at age 52 to widen her appeal. 2010 saw the launch of the Material Girl clothing line with daughter Lourdes, 13, and the power mom is directing her second film, W.E., for release next year. A Madonna-themed episode of the Emmy-winning Glee brought her music to a new generation of fans. Her tour of 2009 was the fourth-highest-grossing, bringing in $6 million a night and $138 million overall.
