More Fan’s favourite memorabilia – Part Three
MadonnaTribers have started to send in photos and stories about their most favourite Madonna memorabilia in their collections. Here are 3 more stories.
• Ok this t-shirt I received as a gift from a good friend of my mom. She was given this tee shirt 3 years ago and when she received it she was in total shock. The funny thing is that she kept forgetting to give it to me and this past summer I turned 40 years old and my best friend said “I have a big surprise for you” and gave me this most amazing gift, an original Dolce and Gabbana t-shirt signed by the Queen herself from the Music album era.
These shirts were a limited edition and now I have this one. I plan being buried with this shirt, LOL!

• It is very overwhelming to think about choosing one piece from my Madonna collection (a.k.a. Madonnabilia) that I have amassed over the past 27 years. Therefore, I will go with the first thing that popped into my head, and assume that is because it holds a special place in my heart. This piece is also special to me because it is one-of-a-kind, I created it and it commemorates one of the best days of my life.
I have been experiencing Madonna in concert from many different sections of various arenas around the country since my first one in 1987. I was finally able to enjoy one from the front row during the Sticky & Sweet tour in Chicago when she performed here in October, 2008. It was a magical night.
Soon after, I decided to use many of the photos I had taken during that concert and compile them in one of those self-publishing books you can create online. I was solely focused on that for a few days and created what I view as a real labor of love. The book is 20 pages, plus the glossy front and back covers and includes over 100 photos. I interspersed words from songs that correspond to the photos on some pages and used appropriate background designs to tie it all together. Aside from the many great live concert shots in the book are photos of the Madonna T-shirts we created for the event and photos of the United Center marquee with her name in lights. There is a double-page spread with photos and captions for the dated lithograph sold that night, our entry tickets, the tour book with song list and some of the souvenir vendors. I get a good laugh from what I put on the back cover: a photo of me eating a Sticky & Sweet cupcake and the words “My Sugar is Raw” written underneath.
Normally, this would have been a relatively inexpensive item to purchase. What made it even better for me was the fact that it was free! At that time Oprah Winfrey had announced to her entire viewing audience that we were eligible for these free books for a limited time. I’m sure most people created beautiful books of their families, children, weddings, vacations, etc… NOT ME!! I knew what had to be done and I set out to make a masterpiece (if I do say so myself). Thanks for strolling down memory lane with me and happy collecting to All You Tribers!

• It was July 30th and Madonna was playing in Oslo Norway! The weather was crazy with wind and rain! The show started and you coud see she was not in a good mood! After Human Nature she flung the guitar pic my way, and i was the lucky one to grab hold of it! The rest of the show was a blast!
