Madonna, the Communist Diva
The all-Italian Madonna controversy spread out of four tiny lines in an interview to weekly magazine “Oggi” at the Venice Film Festival had a small encore when journalist Armando Gallo met again the Director of “W.E.” in Toronto.
“Oggi” comes back on the subject in its latest issue with a two-page spread where we can also see Gallo showing a copy of the issue that caused so much stir among members of Berlusconi’s party – and its “very nice” cover to Madonna herself.
The article also comes with an editorial by tv and media critic Aldo Grasso who comments on the matter – but can’t help falling in the mistake that almost every Italian journalist seems not to be able to avoid: thinking that “Madonna” is just the stage name of an American-Italian artist actually named Luisa Veronica Ciccone. Oh dear…
