Truth or Dare? Truth!
Back in year 2005, MadonnaTribe first reported about Madonna working on her own fragrance. As the project didn’t materialize in the scheduled time for a series of reasons it was considered just a rumour by some, but kept telling our readers that the perfume was something to definitely look forward to again in future.
It’s certainly not by chance that Vogue.com, reporting today about the details of “Truth or Dare” calls the launch of Madonna’s own fragrance “a move that will end years of speculation from the beauty industry”.
The project back then was far from being just a simple idea. Today the official press release from Coty – the partner brand for the Madonna perfume – mentions the great Fabien Baron as the man behind the global television and online marketing campaign featuring Madonna herself.
But Tribers with the best memory may recall that Baron was already on board back in 2005: MadonnaTribe revealed that he was going to work on the perfume commercial on a May 30, 2005 update to our original report about the perfume.
Baron is also the designer of the fragrance logo – an M with a cross sitting on top – and told WWD that “the design of the bottle is meant to feel luxurious and iconic. In Truth or Dare, there is naughty and nice. The white of the bottle and M symbol are links to truth, purity and spirituality, while the beading detail, which adds a tactile feeling, taps into the dare side and gives the bottle a raw edginess.”
As for the print campaign, the name of photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot was again brough to you on these pages first, in a much recent October 27 in-depth look at the Queen of Pop’s upcoming releases.
Mert and Marcus have already done the photoshoot and they have also been asked to work on the new album cover with a photo session taking place towards the end of the year. This is a slight change in the original plan, as back in 2005 the chosen photographer was Steven Klein.
