”Ciao, Italia!”
The Italian leg of the MDNA Tour came to an end yesterday night at the Artemio Franchi stadium in Florence with the third and final Madonna concert in the country this year.
It was once again an historic show, not only because it brought Madonna back to her original “Ciao Italia” stage after 25 years, but also because it marked the first time the Queen of Pop had a three-night run in the country (she was meant to do so back with the Blond Ambition tour, but she eventually performed two concerts only after her scheduled second show in Rome was cancelled).
It was once again love profusion between Madonna and her fans, especially the lucky Early Ticket holders who had the chance to enter the stadium towards the end of the sound-check – to enjoy a pretty talkative Madonna asking them if they were “the rich people” for being there with that sort of special ticket, and what their star-shaped laminated pass was about.
Madonna also thanked again her Italian fans during the show, and happily played with some of her signature short Italian expressions, including of course “Ciao, Italia!.
She told her fans this was her last show in the country, but immediately added that she will “be back”.
On a side note the concert was marked by a few technical inconveniences, including some malfunctions in the screen system at the beginning of the show and most importantly a major failure in the sound department which cause a minute, long, extremelyl loud overload during the third song of the 3rd segment. Madonna apologized, but insiders report that she was obvioulsy very upset for what happened and she was certainly going to make “a big note” about it.
