MadonnaTribe longtime member – the fantastic Babygeorge – has been keeping the Tribers up-to-date with the latest about the MDNA Tour stop in Colombia for weeks through the dedicated topic at the new MadonnaTribe Forum.

Now that Medellin is next on the Tour schedule, let’s have a recap of the latest news!

As you know anticipation has been incredible in Medellin and the press & media coverage of the upcoming concerts has just been growing day after day. Madonna articles keep popping in the local press, with great pieces that call the Madonna concert “a living moving piece of art”, or more down-to-earth reports like those about the stage that had started to be set up at the Estadio Atanasio Girardot ahead of the concerts. The police department said there will be 1.400 policemen taking care of the big event, and local discos are cashing in already creating Madonna-themed nights that will focus especially on after-parties on the next couple of days.

The Madonna concert will also be the opportunity for a special exhibit of the Madonna-inspired works of late local artist Javier Restrepo – his painting are on display this week.

The tour impact on the local economy is expected to be huge – Medellín will have an anticipated Christmas economic boom in November thanks to Madonna.

On more substantial notes, Madonna’s crew landed yesterday to the Rionegro airport – among all these people Monte was of course is the most recognizable one in the paparazzi pictures so far – with more than 200 staff members reported to have arrived today, with some of them posing for souvenir pictures with the fans when they arrived, and grabbing a lot of attention from the local press.

Monte will also join the Amadeus Youth Orchestra for a rehearsal-concert today, November 27th at 1:00 pm at the Cultural Center in Medellín – click here to find out more!

Madonna herself arrived to the Rionegro airport last night before 11 PM, she was picked up right on the tarmac, far from the view of curious ones, and spent the night at her hotel in Medellin.
