”I bow to dick Clark’s memory and everything he did with his life”
Dick Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with “American Bandstand,” and whose trademark “Rockin’ Eve” became a fixture of New Year’s celebrations, died today at the age of 82.
The Official Madonna page on Facebook posted a short message remembering Clark together with a video of her famous 1984 American Bandstand appearance.
“Rest in peace. You will be missed.”
Later on, Madonna also said:
“Even though I told him in 1984 that I wanted to rule the world, it’s Dick Clark who ruled the world. He loved what he did and his energy and enthusiasm were boundless. A great man. I bow to his memory and everything he did with his life.”
