Madonna’s First Magazine Cover(s)
The October 1983 issue of New York magazine “Island” is widely considered the first Madonna magazine cover ever, also thanks to the strenght of her iconic portrait by Curtis Knapp.
It is not common knowledge instead that the soon to be Queen of Pop previously appeared on another New York City publication, photographed by Peter Cunningham, as she made the front page of the November 27, 1982 issue of U.S. trade magazine Dance Music Report, which included her 12” of “Everybody” in their “Brekouts” featurette.
