MadonnaTribe Year-End Lists: Magazine Covers 2012
Hey Tribers, here’s another one of our Year-End Lists for 2012!
Today we concentrate on Magazine covers. Unfortunately (and strangely) neither the MDNA album or MDNA tour brought out exclusive magazine spreads/covers this year, so our list of best covers, that collectors needs to have this year, ends up with no more than five pieces.
Vanity Fair Italia has shown love and support for Madonna twice this year. The first time in January by publishing for the first time ever a stunning outtake from 1987 by Herb Ritts from a photoshoot for the Who’s That Girl Tour.
Vanity Fair Italia strikes back with a second amazing Madonna cover in March for the launch of the Truth Or Dare perfume.
In September 2012 the ultra-rare limited printing of “Fancy” magazine Fall/Winter 2012 has a unreleased Madonna image on the cover.
It also features a 12-page article entitled “True Material Girl” with never before seen photos of Madonna by Richard Corman from 1983. Twenty years later not surprisingly, her clothes are totally on-trend!
In October Madonna and the late Keith Haring grace the cover of the new edition of Monopol, one of the German leading art magazines. Inside the magazine you’ll find an extensive story about Haring and another small pic of Madonna who is also mentioned once in the article text.
December sees the release of an amazing double issue of Spotlight, the French magazine devoted to Madonna, featuring stunning cover illustration by David Kawena and everything you need to know about the MDNA Tour, including exclusive pictures.
