MDNA in Portugal pictures by Andifeel
From the Portuguese MDNA Tour concert at the Estadio Cidade Coimbra, here come the first images and the report shared by our longtime Community member Neil aka And-i-feel.
“It was a fantastic show – another 40 degree show, another 10 PM start and another electric crowd,” Neil writes
“It was also emotional as it was one of my best friend in the world – Tonybecks’ first show of the show, plus Izzy’s 84th and final show for now, and my 90th show … we didnt stop to count the £$£$ spent over the years between us as I think we’d have stopped smiling!”
“Madonna’s hair was different throughout the show – her top roll fell during Turn Up The Radio, and she re-locked it back in for the closing “Celebration” segment rather than let it hand free as usual.
In addition, for the first time in my shows Rocco was not on stage with Madonna – he was replaced with a dancer.
The soundcheck prior to the show consisted of 9 full songs – it was like getting 2 full promo gigs for free on top of the main show! On top of that, she bashed us on the head with a hammer playfully, gave one of her dancers a birthday cake and sang happy birthday with the crowd, and presented him with a gift. Another amusing moment early in the soundcheck was when she realised the barriers were too far back from the stage, and she held the soundcheck up to have security move the barriers closer.”
“The organisation in Coimbra was fantastic and Madonna played to yet another packed Stadium.
Berlin next!”
