Moscow, are you ready?
The MDNA Tour stopped in Kiev tonight where Madonna and her crew performed in front of a massive audience that some estimate of 55,000 or even 70,000.
Next stop is Moscow, the first of two tour dates in Russia, but before Madonna takes the stage again at the Olimpiski Arena on Tuesday she will be attending the official Grand Opening of Hard Candy Fitness Moscow along with the dancers from her tour on Monday. August 6th.
The new location, which opened its doors in December 2011, has quickly become the hottest fitness destination to hit Red Square, boasting 3,500 square meters of top of the line amenities and programming allowing its members to work out hard and relax in luxury. Madonna’s influence and design is seen and felt throughout this stunning new facility.
Moscow is one of my favorite cities and my dancers and I are looking forward to celebrating at this beautiful club’s official August 6th opening, commented Madonna.
Madonna’s personal trainer Nicole Winhoffer is also scheduled to attend the VIP gala. Following the festivities at Hard Candy Fitness Moscow, the celebration will continue at a highly anticipated after party at Soho Rooms.
But more than tour celebrations and gala openings the Russian leg of the tour will also be an opportunity for Madonna to remind the world about how she’s always been standing up for people’s rights and freedom of speech, and this year she will find two major controversies to welcome her for a change – so hopefully the press will have something worth writing about instead of fabricating nonsense on purpose.
In just a couple of days we’ll know if she decides to address the Pussy Riot issue and the anti-gay law in St. Petersburg – which is actually about to become a Federal legislation.
Madonna briefly addressed the story of Pussy Riot – the feminist collective who hit the headlines when three members were arrested after an anti-Putin protest and who are now facing up to seven years in jail in an intervoew with Russian tv channel NTV – click here to watch the interview (which unfortunately is heavily dubbed in Russian language.
