O2 World pictures, videos and story by DJCooky
MadonnaTribe longtime contributor and Community member Basti aka DJCooky shares his pictures, videos and concert experience with Madonna at the O2 WorldJune 30.
“I arrived in Berlin on Friday, 29th for a stay of four days celebrating my birthday on Monday. I´ve learned a lot about what was going on at her first Berlin concert on Thursday. Thanks a lot to you Tribers for all the info!”
“There is one thing that was special about the O2 World in Berlin that I want to point out! As a O2 customer (SIM-card in your mobile) you had a separate entrance called “blue lane”! Very few fans knew about that, mostly only those from Berlin. As a O2 customer, you could also bring along three friends in total. At the “blue lane” entrance there was less checking of your belongings and you were let in prior to the other fans with field tickets. That is what I want to point out: all those who had “early access” were kind of ripped off by this “blue lane” door policy.
Meaning, that a lot of “early access” guys, were standing way behind me in the arena.”
“The “iPad lady” showed up at about 5:15pm. She was rather nice though when I talked to her about any leftovers. We were let in at about 6:30pm and Martin Solveig played for almost an hour. Madonna teared the roof off at 10:17pm!”
“I´ve been to her shows since the Drowned World Tour, but this entrance was beyond words. So epic! The snippets on Youtube don´t do this amazing opener any justice! I was shaking, almost crying and watching with pure amazement until she hit the floor. Soundwise it was one of her best shows, not so distorted as the Sticky and Sweet Tour was. Her infamous interludes really made a highlight to the show. What´s more she was really talkative before performing Masterpiece.”
“As MDNA was not my favourite album to be honest I really think that all songs performed in that show are amazing from the album, especially “I don´t give a”! Madonna looked so fresh and young from my perspective and my friends and me were wondering like how she could put on a show like this at her age almost every evening?!”
“Bottom line: Thanx for bringing music and joy to my life ever since MADONNA!”
Basti also shot a nice shout out to a friend he and fellow triber Bepo were missing at the show. When you check out the video below, be sure to browse his entire YouTube channel for all the videos from the concert – and click the banner below for his picture gallery.
