The tour will end in South America, officials say.
“Madonna’s tour will end in South America in December as planned. That’s all we can say.”
This extremely short statement from a Live Nation is the only piece of official news that the Australian fans were left with so far, after the news broke in the media that plans for the MDNA tour to bring Madonna back down under after 20 years were cancelled.
As you remember Australia was mentioned in the official Live Nation press release about the tour as the leg to be announced at a later stage, following the Madonna concerts in Colombia, Brasil and Argentina. “The tour will also visit South American and Australia,” Live Nation previously announced.
“Madonna was due to confirm summer dates earlier this month but delayed the announcement until after the Olympics” – the BBC News reported.
Speculation is also something we’re left with, with reports in Australian media suggesting that stadiums had already been booked in Sydney and Melbourne for next year’s leg of the MDNA tour, and others saying that the tour became unviable due to high ticket costs and a crowded concert market.
Hopefully the fans will learn more straight from the horse’s mouth soon.
