Vanity Fair Italia is in love with Madonna
As reported here on MadonnaTribe News yesterday, Madonna is once again the cover star of the Italian edition of Vanity Fair magazine.
The love story between Vanity Fair Italia and Madonna has brought us a stunning run-up of nine amazing covers so far, and the brand new one that has just hit the newstands today is their second Madonna cover of 2012!
Vanity Fair Italia was a monthly publication in the nineties, and it is now a weekly magazine. The photographers of the nine Madonna covers so far are:
• Helmut Newton (1990)
• Steven Meisel (1991)
• Tim Walker (2005)
• Steven Klein (2006)
• Sølve Sundsbø (2007)
• Steven Klein (2007)
• Steven Meisel (2008)
• Steven Klein (2009)
• Herb Ritts (2012)
• Mert & Marcus (2012)
The new issue – No.18 – 19 May 2012 – is out today for six days only (even if it’s weekly, this issue comes out a day later following the May 1st bank holiday, and the new issue will replace this one on Wednesday).
The cover story is made of a great eight page spread filled with full-size photographs on the set of the Truth or Dare by Madonna perfume commercial on three double pages and a two single page exclusive interview by Paola Giacobbi.
Collectors will have a bit of a headache with this release as Vanity Fair is currently offered with different prices nationwide, and therefore some of the covers will report the standard 2 price, while in other local markets the magazine is on sale for 1,50 and the different pricing is reflected in minor differences in the actual cover layout.
Fans from Europe and the US can have a clue about whether the magazine is sold in their countries checking out the international pricing notes on the cover’s spine pictured above.
