Madonna to auction MDNA Tour gear for Sandy victims
Madonna will auction off items from her record-breaking MDNA Tour to benefit Sandy victims, sources tell New York Post.
The online version of the newspaper reports that Madonna is said to be put under the hammer items that may include the 1940s inspired “majorette with a message” costume designed by Arianne Phillips for the “Express Yourself” and “Give Me All Your Luvin'” numbers and accessories like the caged basque from “Open You Heart/Sagarra Jo” and “Masterpiece”.
The Post also reports that props for the set are likely to be part of the acution, but these would not include the replica gun she used in the show.
Madonna raised her voice in support of victims of Hurricane Sandy following a visit to the Rockaways with MoMA’s chief curator and director of PS1 Klaus Biesenbach and dedicated the entire “Like a Virgin” performance during her back-to-back concerts at Madison Square Garden to the cause, urging the audience to donate and support the relief efforts.
Her daugther Lourdes wrote about how it is still urgent to support the Sandy victims just a couple of days ago with a post on her blog.
