Madonna visits the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital
Madonna visited the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi’s largest city. She has been supporting the center for five years through its chief pediatrician, Dr. Eric Borgstein.
“Eric Borgstein is a hero of mine”, she said “He is doing a wonderful job.” Borgstein, a partner of Raising Malawi, has been working in children’s health for 15 years, treating up to 40 patients daily. He was born and raised in Malawi and studied medicine at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands before to returning to his home country.
Tomorro, Friday, Madonna is scheduled to visit Consol Homes Orphan Care Centre, 50 kilometers outside the capital, Lilongwe, the Associate Press reports.
