MDNA’s Worldwide Sales
Madonna’s twelfth studio album, the first released under the Interscope Records label on March 23, 2012, has sold slightly more than 1,685,000 copies worldwide, MadonnaTribe.com can report.
MDNA has already reached Platinum status in sixteen markets including Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain and Switzerland.
The album has also been certified Gold in the United States and the United Kingdom, making a total of nineteen countries together with Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and Venezuela.
As we’re in the digital download era is it also worth noticing that MDNA scored 320,000 units from its three singles or as individually downloaded album tracks.
The market with the most copies sold is not surpringly the U.S. one, with more than 550,000 units.
The second and third place in the list go to the UK and Japan, with France following in the fourth spot. In all these countries MDNA has sold more than 100,000 copies.
Completing an ideal Top Ten are Italy, Canada, Germany, Brazil, Russia and Mexico.
