She’s a magnet!
Madonna’s fashion line Material Girl is set to launch its new collection and it’s all looking very British. The original material girl, along with daughter Lurdes Leon, chose none other than Rita Ora as the face of the collection. The campaign features the Kosovo-born singer posing in colourful shots around London. Naturally, she is seen sporting the summery designs of Material Girl’s summer collection.
“To be hand-picked by Madonna and her incredibly cool daughter Lola is the largest of all compliments,” she told Us Magazine. “This has been an amazing Material Girl tour around my hometown, London, taking loads of pictures, dressing up and having fun.”
The singer can be seen wearing the colorful pieces, as well as a “bearskin the fur hat, traditionally worn by members of the Queen’s Guard. The shots have been taken at iconic locations like Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and Big Ben and also features cultural icons like London cabs and the classic, now firmly out-of-use red phone booths.
Previous faces of the campaign include Taylor Momsen and Kelly Osbourne. Despite the upcoming launch of a global marketing campaign, Material Girl is so far only available in Macy’s stores, as well as the chain’s online shop.
“Rita is a talented beauty but what really drew us to her is the confidence she oozes through her music and her unique sense of style,” Madonna and Lola said in statement. “On stage or off, in photos or on the street – she’s a magnet! This is what the Material Girl brand is all about!”
