Vinyl Candies
Hard Candy, Madonna‘s last studio album with Warner Bros, might not be everyone’s favourite Madonna record, but its vinyl release is indeed worth a look as it has been released as candy colored swirled discs.
This deluxe package also contains two bonus remixes of the first single, “4 Minutes” on “regular” black 12″ disc. The set comes in a three-pocket Stoughton jacket, with a bonus audio CD of the album in a plain paper sleeve.
A few weeks after its initial releases, some of the fans that bought the vinyl album discovered that their copies were not “candy” colored swirled discs but got a package containing full pink and full blue discs instead.
This variation appeared to cause a bit of confusion among collectors especially because some of the copies were
even rumoured to have a recording that was not Madonna on one side of the pink disc but I can’t swear on that as I don’t know if it’s true due to the fact I have never played any of the copies I have of this vinyl!
After investigating quite a while we have come to the conclusion that the standard release (swirled discs) were produced by Warner US and distributed in the United States and as official Warner imports in several European countries.
The alternate edition was instead more limited and made in the UK and distributed as the first batch of UK release through HMV and some online music stores based in the United Kingdom.
Ok guys, as usual happy Madonna collecting!
